Childhood

Aditi Rao Hydari was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, to classical singers Ehsaan Hydari and Vidya Rao, who are both well-known for their work in the thumri and Dadra styles of music. Aditi Rao Hydari’s mother is a practising Buddhist and a Chitrapur Saraswat from Mangalore who is half-Telugu. Aditi Rao Hydari’s father, a Bohri Muslim who passed away in 2013, was a Hindu by birth. Thus, Hydari has a mixed ancestry that includes Bohri, Chitrapur Saraswat, and Telugu.

Hydari is descended from Sir Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari and Raja J. Rameshwar Rao, a former Raja of the Wanaparthy family, respectively, from two royal lineages. She is the great-granddaughter of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, a former governor of Assam, and the granddaughter of Akbar Hydari, a former prime minister of Hyderabad state in colonial India.

Aditi is the granddaughter of Shanta Rameshwar Rao, a highly regarded educationalist in the city of Hyderabad, the founder of the Vidyaranya school, and Raja J. Rameshwar Rao, who oversaw the administration of Wanaparthi state under colonial India. Her maternal first cousin is filmmaker Kiran Rao, who was once married to actor Aamir Khan.

Hydari’s parents separated when she was two years old. Her mother moved from Hyderabad to New Delhi, where she managed the family business. While her father remarried and had no children, her mother remained childless. Hydari spent his formative years in both New Delhi and Hyderabad.

She started taking Bharatanatyam classes from famous dancer Leela Samson when she was six years old. Hydari goes by both of her parents’ last names. She explained, saying, “I wanted to maintain both because my father is a part of who I am and because my mother raised me.” I decided to keep both Rao and Hydari because of their rarity.

Family

According to reports, Aditi wed the former Indian lawyer and actor Satyadeep Mishra in 2009. In 2013, Aditi declared their divorce, but she insisted that their friendship remained strong. Yes, she said, I did marry Satyadeep when I was twenty-one. He was a government officer and lawyer who abandoned his profession to pursue acting. I was seventeen when I had my first committed relationship, which was with him.

Our relationship hasn’t ended and we are still close friends, but our breakup broke my heart. He will always be my mother’s son, and I am his mother’s daughter. Even though he is much older, he frequently makes fun of me for being his child that he can’t seem to let go of.

Boyfriends and Relationships

As soon as they announced their split from her wife, reports of Farhan Akhtar’s relationship with Aditi Rao Hydari started to circulate. Aditi was frequently cited as the cause of his divorce. The two were frequently seen together back then while they were filming for Wazir. However, a lot of people jumped the gun and called them a couple. Aditi was even occasionally seen with Farhan’s family, which set off a wild and frantic speculation game among everyone.

However, Hydari finally refuted the rumours after remaining silent for a while. She stated: As part of our duties, it… On certain days, I get annoyed for five minutes, and then we all chuckle and continue working. I find it amusing. The unfounded rumours quickly died down the same way they had begun.

Career edit: Early positions from 2004 to 2009

Hydari started her professional career as a Bharatanatyam dancer. She developed an interest in the dance form at the age of eleven after being associated with Leela Samson. She travelled across India and overseas to perform in stage shows while working as a teacher for Samson’s dance troupe, Spanda.[15][16]

Hydari finished her first acting job, Srinagar, at the beginning of 2004. In the role, she played a 19th-century temple dancer named Devadasi.[17] Renowned Bharatanatyam dancer Padmini Ravi produced the Tamil film, which was directed by Sharada Ramanathan. After witnessing Hydari’s dance performance at a conference, Ramanathan extended an offer to Hydari, citing her “vulnerable and fresh face” as further reasons. However, Prajapathi (2006), a Malayalam movie in which she co-starred with Mammootty, was her first theatrical release.

Actress Suhasini had recommended her to filmmaker Ranjith for the role, and she was chosen when the director made contact with her through Sringaram’s cinematographer, Madhu Ambat.[21]

Hydari played an orphan girl who developed feelings for the character played by Mammootty, however, the critic from Rediff said that Hydari “has nothing to do with the overall plot” and that her role was therefore small.[22] Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra cast her in his 2009 Hindi drama film Delhi-6, in which she had a supporting part as an unmarried lady in a society that disapproved of spinsterhood.

Professional growth (2009–2015)

2011 saw Hydari play a supporting part in Sudhir Mishra’s love drama Yeh Saali Zindagi, with Arunoday Singh. Playing the wife of a former prisoner, the movie gained attention before its premiere because of the sexy sequences starring Hydari and Singh.[24] Following the film’s premiere, Hydari won the Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress, which brought her widespread recognition for the role.[25]

Later, she starred with Ranbir Kapoor in the musical film Rockstar (2011) directed by Imtiaz Ali.[26] Hydari had first met Ali to talk about casting debutant Nargis Fakhri in the lead female role, which was supposed to be a Kashmiri girl. Two months later, Ali got in touch with her once more and signed her to play a supporting role.
