Hyundai Exter Launches in India, Starting at Rs. 5.99 Lakh
Weeks after teasing the micro-SUV on its website and Twitter channels offering a sneak peek into its exterior, interior features, and scientific particulars, Hyundai officially launched the Exter SUV in India today.
The car can be bought in India at an advertised cost of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Without a doubt, since its debut, the Exter has caused a lot of enthusiasm among prospective buyers.
The manufacturer’s stock of SUVs, including models such as the Venue, the Creta, the Alcazar, and the Tucson, recently added this new model, which is its least expensive model.
The Exter is a compact car, yet despite its tiny stature, it oozes style and offers a long list of features. Particularly interesting is that it will have a 1.2-litre petrol engine with the recently revealed Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which is constructed on a comparable platform.
Exter Hyundai: Design
The Hyundai Exter comes with a 2450 mm wheelbase and a 1631 mm height. Its SUV’s sporty semi-leatherette on the inside and ‘Exter’ branding enhance its level of exclusivity. The Hyundai Exter also maximizes visibility for rear passengers, thanks to its big DLO (Day-Light Opening) and improved rear windowpane size.
The Exter’s distinctive Parametric Front Grille draws focus on this SUV’s modern look.
H-Signature LED DRLs, Projection Headlamps, and Sporty Skid Plate accentuate the outstanding SUV design, and the unique Exter symbol on the front emphasizes this SUV’s customized appeal.
With side sill paneling enhancing this SUV’s rough look and Diamond Cut Alloy wheels included in blacked-out wheel arches, its lively side is further highlighted.
The Grand i10 Nios’ dashboard is an exact clone of the one in question. Thus everything looks very much like it. We believe this isn’t nice because the Nios’ dashboard appears sleek and modern. Yet, the mini SUV has three interior color options that set it apart compared to the hatchback: black/blue, black/green, and black/light gray. Here, you may take a better look at its cabins.
Split headlights with ‘H’-shaped DRLs and an enormous rectangular air dam are present in this style. It has a skid guard in the front that provides it with an excellent, rugged look.
Hyundai Exter: Gearbox and Engine
Regarding the technical features, the SUV comes with three distinct powerplant options.
A 1.2-litre Kappa petrol, 4-cylinder customarily aspirated (NA) engine may generate 82 bhp at 6,000 pm & 113.8 nanometers at 4,000 rpm. A 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel Kappa petrol with CNG option can generate 68 bhp and 95.2 Nm at its highest output.
A manual gearbox will be utilized for the CNG version’s gearbox, whereas an AMT automated gear or a five-speed conventional gearbox will be utilized with the gasoline motor.
Exter Hyundai: Safety
Exter provides 26 security features that are included on every version and optional on the front trims (E & S). ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), and HAC (Hill Assist Control) are instances of 1st in Segment features.
Additional standard security features on the Hyundai Exter include 3-Point Seatbelts and Seatbelt Alerts (all Seats), Keyless Admission, ABS / EBD, Rear Parking Sensors, ESS, Burglary Alarm, and a number of others.
Over 40 innovative safety methods, like headlamp escort, auto headlamps, ISOFIX, rear defogger, and rear parking camera, have been recently implemented in the Hyundai Exter by HMI.
The Exter has an upright, boxy design from the side and features as the rough body encasing around the wheel arch give it an excellent, SUV-like look. A black plastic trim joins the tail lamps at the rear, which, a second time, have an H-motif.
Market Rivals for Hyundai Exter
The firm opened bookings for the car earlier at Rs 11,000 and published all details about the SUV other than the price. But right now, we are also conscious of that. The Exter comes with an MSRP of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Upon its world premiere today, the Exter will go up against the Tata Punch in the micro-SUV marketplace along with the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Citroen C3, as well as Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
